AGE LIMIT/ PROTECION OF MINORS
At SUMMER BREEZE Open Air, the German Law for the Protection of the Youth applies.
Ages from 0 to 6 inclusively
Concert area: no admittance
Camp site: only with legal guardian
Ages from 7 to 15 inclusively
Concert area: only with legal guardian or person having the care and custody of the child
Camp site: only with legal guardian or person having the care and custody of the child
Ages from 16 to 17 inclusively
Concert area (from 24:00): only with legal guardian or person having the care and custody of the child
Camp site (from 24:00): only with legal guardian or person having the care and custody of the child Youths between 16 and 17 years of age without their parents, legal guardians or custodians must leave the festival site (including the concert area and camp site) before 24:00!
Parent or guardian appointed by law.
Person having the care and custody of the child
Parent, guardian or third person to whom the parent or guardian has transferred custody for the duration of the festival.
If a youth is accompanied by a third person, they must have a written “agreement for custody” issued and signed in a legally binding way. This has to be carried at all times along with the personal ID. Failure to produce said document upon request may lead to expulsion by police. The homeward journey must be guaranteed for the accompanied youth.
We expressly point out that the legal guardians, normally the parents, must in all conscience decide who may temporarily assume the responsibility for education and to which extent it is transferred. The person to whom this mandate is transferred must also be aware of the responsibility it implies. Please note: Care and custody for more than one minor may be transferred to one person!
The agreement can be downloaded HERE!
The prohibition to drink any type of alcohol, including alcopops, under the age of 18 is still in effect!
The closest major airport is Nuremberg (Nürnberg). Other airports that can easily be reached by train are Stuttgart, Munich (München) and Frankfurt/Main (NOT Frankfurt-Hahn). There are SUMMER BREEZE buses going from Stuttgart and Nuremberg airports directly to the festival site. Timetables and booking info can be found on www.mondialevents.de.
ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE
The entrance corridors will already open on Tuesday at 10:00 and stay open until 22:00 in the evening. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday it won't be possible to access the campsite, but on Wednesday we will open at 10:00 again, this time all the way through Sunday. So all those who wish to arrive a day earlier for SUMMER BREEZE 2015 may do so during the 12-hour time window on Tuesday. However, we have to charge those arriving early a 10.- Euro contribution towards logistical costs per person, because it wouldn't be fair that the additional costs (personnel, rent, etc.) are carried by all campers, but only those arriving early. On Sunday, the site has to be cleared by 14:00. The daily parking lot will be open from 09:00. We will put up signs around the entire Dinkelsbühl area to guide you to the campsite, parking lots and festival site!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to traffic restrictions, it will be impossible for you to leave the campground by car once you have entered it, from Tuesday until Thursday afternoon. If needed, the shuttle bus will give you a lift to the city centre of Dinkelsbuehl free of charge.
On Saturday it will not be possible to access the campsite by car from 18:00. People arriving by car after that time will be diverted to the day parking lot.
In case of bad weather we reserve the right to change the access and parking arrangements at our discretion with the purpose of guaranteeing a smooth flow of traffic. Please follow the instructions of our personnel at all times.
Those traveling with public transport will find a PDF document with all relevant information about bus and train timetables to and from Dinkelsbühl HERE.
All those going to SUMMER BREEZE can take a bus shuttle from the main rail stations / airports in Stuttgart or Nuremberg straight to the main entrance of the SUMMER BREEZE Open Air in Dinkelsbühl. To book your tickets or find more info go to www.mondialevents.de. You may also purchase tickets for the Mondial buses from the Info Point on Saturday from 13:00 to 15:00, regardless of how you arrived at the festival.
Regarding your arrival/departure from the festival please also check under Car Sharing.
After a few questions have been raised regarding the arrival on Tuesday, we would like to offer our advice.
Access to the above mentioned area will happen according to the instructions and maps attached to the confirmation PDFs. If you don't have these instructions, please contact the member of your group who made the reservation or requested the accreditation first. If this person does't have the access PDFs either, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Now on to the most frequently asked questions:
How do I have to book my arrival on Tuesday? I already have my ticket, do I have to book my Tuesday arrival separately? How do I pay the extra 10 Euros?
The money has to be paid on site, there is no need to book anything. You just have to pay the 10 Euros when you pick up your bracelet. However, everybody has to pay, including people accompanying a handicapped person and VIPs.
What happens if I haven't been able to pass the security corridors by 22:00 on Tuesday? Do I have to wait in the car outside the campsite until 10:00 on Wednesday?
The corridors will be open until 22:00 unless all cars haven't gone through. We will keep checking in cars until there is no one in line any more...
Do I necessarily have to park close to the infield if I arrive on Tuesday? Or can I set up camp farther away if I want to stay away from the noise and the crowd?
Since we obviously lack experience regarding the Tuesday arrival, we will proceed exactly the same as last year, which means filling the area in the middle of the campsite first and then the sides.
Will their be camping space close to the infield entrance for those arriving on Wednesday or do they just have to camp on whatever space is left?
We think there will probably still be good spots on Wednesday morning, not least due to the fact that we will fill the campsite in a way that both vehicle entrances can be used on Wednesday too.
What about Zeltheld bookings? Will the tent I booked already be standing on Tuesday?
Yes, our friends from Zeltheld will obviously start setting up the booked tents a day earlier, so everything will already be standing on Tuesday.
Will the portable toilets on the reserved areas be cleaned?
The portable toilets will be emptied on Friday morning (weather allowing!) and can therefore be filled with 2 x 250 litres during the festival days... Furthermore, the reserved toilets will be locked with padlocks to prevent unauthorized use, so those arriving later don't need to worry.
Will there be food stalls open on Tuesday or is it really just camping without anything else?
There will be stalls open in the supermarket / Ochsenbraterei area.
I “live” in the VIP camp / Green Camp / reserved area / handicapped camp. How do I get there on Tuesday?
Access to the above mentioned areas will happen according to the instructions and maps attached to the confirmation PDFs. If you don't have these instructions, please contact the member of your group who made the reservation or requested the accreditation first. If this person does't have the access PDFs either, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
It's obvious that everybody wants to get the best possible spot on the campsite, but this is just not possible, no matter if we open Tuesday or Wednesday, due to the nature of the operation. It is our goal to live up to everybody's expectations and to check in over 30,000 people without waiting time and with limited infrastructure (streets, etc.), but it's not always doable...
ARRIVAL IN GROUPS / SAVING SPACE
BAD WEATHER / SEVER WEATHER / STORM / CLEARING / EVACUATION
If, in a worst-case scenario, there should be extreme weather, security personnel’s instructions must be followed UNCONDITIONALLY. Every measure taken in such case is for your own safety! Especially in case of severe weather or storm, we reserve the right to change the arrival and parking process as needed. This is meant to guarantee a smooth flow of traffic. In case it is necessary to clear the infield, we urge you to follow the instructions of the security personnel and emergency services. Please also mind the announcements through the PA, as well as police, fire brigade and emergency service announcements. In case the infield needs to be cleared, stay calm and get in your cars, where it is usually the safest. Please note: The Party Tent is NOT an appropriate shelter and will be cleared as well. In the unlikely case of evacuation, the whole site (this is, including the campsite) has to be cleared. Please follow the instructions of the security personnel and the emergency services in this case, too, and mind the announcements in German and English. Once again: Every measure taken in such case is for your own safety!
BAN ON GLASS
Unfortunately, some of the festival visitors' careless behaviour forces us to strictly prohibit any glass on the festival site and on the camping grounds. We will strictly check each car entering the site. Our security will also check the camping grounds during the festival days. Please have understanding and avoid bringing any kind of glass containers.
This includes all food and drink containers made of glass, regardless of the use they are given (e.g. tobacco in a preserving jar). Due to the high accident and fire hazard, oil (kerosene/paraffin) lamps are prohibited too! Perfume flacons, medicine bottles and shishas are allowed.
Best thing to do is to pour all liquids into plastic containers. Please take this issue seriously - otherwise we will face massive problems in getting access to appropriate camping grounds in the future!
There are small ponds and watercourses around the festival site. Bathing there is prohibited! Therefore bathing is at everyone's own risk!
Once again, you will have the possibility to enjoy our beer garden! Those looking for a little break in between bands will have the opportunity to enjoy a drink and some food in a comfortable atmosphere right there! Please check the site map for its exact location.
Our branding stand will be on site again. Our blacksmith will be there to brand the SUMMER BREEZE logo onto your leather wristbands, wallets, boots, bags, etc. He will have several different red hot designs to give you an authentic branding. Unfortunately the blacksmith’s costs have risen, too, so he will charge a small fee. So if you want a different kind of decoration for your denim cut-off or your jeans old or new, you can have it done here. But please note: It is not possible to brand synthetic fibres. The blacksmith will happily advise you.
BUS SHUTTLE BETWEEN THE FESTIVAL SITE AND DINKELSBÜHL
This year the free bus shuttle service between the festival site and the town of Dinkelsbühl will operate at the following times:
10:00 to 20:00 – Stops: Schiesswasen and ZOB (bus station) Schwedenwiese
(Return trips from Dinkelsbühl are possible until 22:00)
10:00 to 20:00 – Stops: Schiesswasen and ZOB (bus station) Schwedenwiese
Thursday – Saturday:
08:00 to 20:00 – Stop: ZOB (bus station) Schwedenwiese
07:00 to 14:00 – Stops: Schiesswasen and ZOB (bus station) Schwedenwiese
CAMERAS / AUDIO RECORDERS
Both analog and digital compact cameras, as well as mobile phones with integrated cameras, are allowed. Reflex cameras with interchangeable objective lenses, video cameras and action cameras (GoPros, etc.), as well as any audio recording devices are prohibited on the concerta rea, except with the relevant press (photo) pass.
CAMPING / PARKING
There will be enough parking and camping space available. You may park your car right next to your tent. Camping is not permitted without the purchase of a festival ticket. Therefore, please make use of the official parking and camping areas.
This year again our friends at Zeltheld will be renting out tents, camping chairs, etc. You can also have them build your tent, completely equipped with chairs, drinks and a portable toilet. More info and prices under www.zeltheld.com.
The daily parking area can be found just across the street of the campsite entrance. You may also park your car in that area while camping on the campsite separately, but wish to make sure you can move your car at any time.
Only vehicles with a weight not exceeding 3.5 tons will have access to the campground. This also applies to caravans and mobile homes. Trailers which can only be towed by a tractor or lorry will not be allowed on the campsite. The same goes for tractors and generally all motorized two wheel vehicles as well as quad bikes.
Trailers and campers shall not bring gas cylinders exceeding 11kg. Please make sure your equipment is in good working condition and that you use it in an appropriate way. Any misuse may have fatal consequences. We believe this needs no further explanation.
Camping outside the official camping area is prohibited. Doing so will be fined!
BlaBlaCar is an easy way to get a lift to SUMMER BREEZE in Dinkelsbühl for all those who don't own a car but still don't wish to use public transport. This way, you are not only protecting the environment, but you get to meet new people too.
CASH MACHINE / ATM
There will be cash machines on site, located close to the Infopoint, so you can't really miss it. The charges for cash withdrawals will be displayed at the machine.
Children of up to 12 years of age have free access when presenting the child's and one of the parents' Ids. Please check the AGE LIMIT / PROTECTION OF MINORS item in this ABC for further information regarding admittance to the separate areas.
All items of little value that are confiscated at the doors will go straight into the rubbish bin. Items of more value may be collected until 14:00 Sunday afternoon from the container by the car inspection area. Any items that are not collected until this time will go in the bin, too! The organization takes no liability for confiscated objects!
DAY PARKING LOT
The day parking lot is located opposite of the entrance to the campsite, is signposted accordingly an opens at 9am every day.
We will not vacate the day parking lot, so it is possible to stay there over night. However, the use of camping accessories is not allowed here. You may obviously park your car here too if you are camping but want to make sure you will be able to leave by car at any time.
There is a charge for parking on the day parking lot. The price will be announced in time before the festival.
Day ticket holders:
For day ticket holders, parking for a single day costs € 5.-.
One-day parking tickets for the day parking lot are not available for pre-sale, but only on site.
3-day ticket holders (festival tickets):
3-day ticket holders have to pay € 10.- per vehicle for two or more days parking.
In order to prevent misuse, it is not possible for 3-day ticket holders to purchase a parking ticket for a single day. In this case, a regular parking ticket must be purchased.
Dialysecentrum Dinkelsbühl is a clinic in the heart of Dinkelsbühl for all kidney, high blood pressure and diabetes patients who wish to attend the SUMMER BREEZE Open Air festival.
This modern specialist clinic with three internal specialists is available for dialysis during the following times:
Wednesday and Friday: 06:00 to 22:30
Thursday and Saturday: 06:00 to 13:00
You can contact Dialysecentrum Dinkelsbühl by phone (incl. emergencies) under +49 98 51 / 5 77 66 11 or email under email@example.com.
Further information can be found on the practice website under www.dialyse-dinkelsbuehl.de as well as at its premises at Luitpoldstrasse 14-16 in Dinkelsbühl.
We hope this information will help people who might have been unsure to guarantee a trouble-free festival weekend.
The festival site is located about 5 km outside of Dinkelsbühl, therefore we will again provide a bus shuttle running from and to Dinkelsbühl.
Dinkelsbühl itself has numerous attractions and leisure facilities to offer. You can do some shopping in the picturesque medieval Old Town, check out some of the countless cafes, restaurants and bars or visit the indoor swimming pool, as well as one of the last river beaches in Bavaria - the Woernitz river shore. There is also a post office and several pharmacies in town.
DISABLED PEOPLE / WHEELCHAIRS
We are constantly trying to improve the service for our disabled visitors in order to make the festival as comfortable and barrier-free as possible for them.
Seriously disabled visitors with a G (significant walking disability), AG (exceptional walking disability), B (need of constant care), H (helplessness) or BL (blindness) in their handicapped ID will receive a free ticket for their accompanying person at the VIP Container. It's important that disabled visitors present a valid ticket as well as their handicapped ID with one of the aforementioned marks.
As in the last few years, there is going to be a special platform incl. wheelchair accessible toilet for wheelchair users at the open-air stages. In the Party Tent wheelchair users may use the VIP platform. Please speak to the security personnel at either side of the stage barrier and they will help you. There will be a wheelchair accessible toilet there, too.
Again there is going to be a special camping area for wheelchair users and disabled people. There we will be able to help all visitors who depend on electricity (e.g. respirators, electric wheelchairs) and those who can only walk short distances. Besides wheelchair accessible toilets there is going to be a wheelchair accessible shower in close proximity as well.
In order to secure a large enough camping area, users have to make their reservation in advance. Please make your binding reservation HERE.
A handicapped ID marked with a G (significant walking disability), AG (exceptional walking disability), B (need of constant care), H (helplessness) or BL (blindness) or proof of their dependence on electricity or short distances is a prerequisite.
Those who depend on electricity have to communicate this in advance during registration. Please note electricity is only provided for vital equipment such as respirators, electric wheelchairs, etc., not for charging mobile phones and similar.
Please remember to bring a long enough extension lead.
In order to process you registration, you must fill out the reservation form linked above until 30.06.2016.
There are two changes from the last few years:
There is no limit any more regarding the group size. The disabled visitor reserving the camping space may register up to two accompanying persons free of charge. Each additional accompanying person must pay a reservation fee of € 8.-
Besides the camping reservation, a separate parking ticket must be purchased in advance (http://summer-breeze.empticketing.de/en_GB/art_318919/ or http://www.summer-breeze.de/uk/tickets/print-at-home-tickets.html) or on site with an extra charge.
Here's a quick overview:
1. There are wheelchair accessible showers for disabled visitors in close proximity of the disabled campsite.
2. A reservation is needed to camp on the disabled campsite. See above for details about the reservation process.
3. Besides the camping reservation, a separate parking ticket must be purchased in advance (http://summer-breeze.empticketing.de/en_GB/art_318919/ or http://www.summer-breeze.de/uk/tickets/print-at-home-tickets.html) or on site with an extra charge.
Dogs and animals in general are not permitted on the whole festival site (campsite and concert area).
To all those who up to know had to stay away from the festival because they didn't have anyone to look after their four-legged friends, we can now offer a solution during the festival days: Hundezentrum Mittelfranken.
Hundezentrum Mittelfranken is one of the most modern boarding kennels in all of Germany. Their main focus is a dog school and boarding facilities. This includes feeding and fur care as well as the necessary social contact with humans. A 4,000m² field provides plenty of room for exercise.
For SUMMER BREEZE ticket holders the boarding kennel has a cost of 18.- Euros a day instead of the usual 20.- Euros. Additional fees for Sundays and holidays don't apply either.
Please read all the relevant information on their website!
These are the contact details:
Tel.: +49 (0) 9853 389 119
You will have to present a valid vaccination certificate. Vaccines are available for an additional fee. The dog should have undergone a prophylactic parasite treatment (against fleas and worms) at least a week before. This treatment is also available for an additional fee. The dog must be insured against third-party damages. Bringing a blanket (of the dog's known environment), if possible in a “hard shell” (dog basket), is advised.
DOORS OPEN FESTIVAL SITE
On the three main festival days, Thursday to Saturday, you can access the concert area from 10:00. Bands start playing at 11:00 every day.
On the Warm-up Wednesday the first band starts playing at 14:00 and the concert area can be accessed from 13:00.
At the entrance there will be security checks, so please make sure you only bring drinks in the allowed containers and quantities (one tetrapack or PET bottle of up to 0.5 litres per person or the 0.4 litre SUMMER BREEZE cup) and only the permitted photo cameras (see the item CAMERAS).
Unfortunately all prohibited items must be confiscated and discarded.
Other items NOT allowed in the concert area include:
All kinds of weapons and knives (including clasp knives), all kinds of glass, film cameras and audio recording equipment, flagpoles and staffs, as well as all kinds of pyrotechnic items, gas horns, musical instruments and similar.
We will obviously provide you with the opportunity to buy refreshments and food. Stands can be found throughout the entire site. You may bring your own drinks (for your own use only) to the campground. You may only take a tetra pack or a plastic bottle of up to 0.5 litres per person or a SUMMER BREEZE 0.4 ltr mug with you onto the concert area.
PLEASE NOTE: Glass is strictly prohibited on the entire festival and camping grounds!
DRONES / MULTICOPTERS / QUADCOPTERS
Bringing and operating drones, multicopters, quadcopters and other flying objects or equipment is not allowed on the festival site and on the campsite.
Many of the fields surrounding the SUMMER BREEZE site are important agricultural areas and forests. These fields must be protected, and the forests, as well as the animals and plants living there, must be preserved. Every year we erect fences around the surface we use for the festival. Anyone getting caught trespassing or manipulating / knocking over / dismounting the fences risks a yellow card. Severe breach of these rules may even lead to expulsion! The field owners reserve the right to further legal action. The preservation of these fields is a condition for us to be able to keep organising the festival on these premises. Please stay on the marked paths and keep your hands off the fences! Thank you for your understanding and support.
FESTIVAL ACCESS WRIST BAND
We will exchange your tickets for the festival wristbands right at the entrance to the campsite. You must show your wristband to any member of security or staff on demand. Therefore, you must not take it off your wrist from Tuesday until your departure on Sunday.
Open fire is strictly prohibited throughout the entire camping and festival site. Camping stoves and barbecue grills are allowed. All grills and stoves MUST be set up on their corresponding stands on firm ground. Coal trays must not be in contact with the ground. Due to some serious accidents which have resulted in life threatening injuries, we expressly urge you to exercise extreme caution when using fire starters to light charcoal barbecues! Oil lamps are not allowed on the festival site! The same applies to firewood and cressets!
FIRST AID / MALTESER EMERGENCY SERVICE
On the festival site there is a big first-aid centre run by the Malteser Emergency Service. There will also be three emergency stations on the campsite open 24 hours a day. The Malteser Emergency Service will also be covering the campsite with mobile squads and vehicles. The locations of the Malteser Service can be found on the site map. There are refrigerators in the emergency stations where you can store your medicines over the course of the festival.
In case of emergency during the festival please call the following number: 0700 - MALTESER (07 00 - 62 58 37 37).
Should there be any changes we will announce them right here.
FLAGPOLES AND SIMILAR
Digging holes in the campsite for flagpoles or similar objects is not permitted. The owners of the fields require that no holes are left in the field. This means flagpoles which need to be anchored in the ground must not be set up. We obviously want and need to use these grounds again next year.
FLYERS / POSTERS / PROMO CDs / FREE MERCHANDISE SAMPLES
It is generally prohibited to hand out any flyers. Posting or handing out posters, promo CDs, free merchandise samples, etc. is prohibited on the entire festival site, except with the organizer's previous written authorization.
It is allowed to bring food onto the campsite without limit.
ATTENTION: Glass is absolutely prohibited on the entire campsite and concert area! Please fill you food/drink into permitted containers.
This festival ABC is constantly being updated according to the ever changing circumstances and situations we keep facing. Therefore no responsibility is taken for the correctness of this information. Please check back regularly at www.summer-breeze.de - especially for a final update before your departure to the festival.
