This service is meant for all those who unfortunately have to stay home, as well as all festivalgoers who want to actively contribute to providing the poor souls back home with to-the-minute impressions from the festival site.

Unfortunately we are forced to announce that ATHEIST have had to cancel their appearance at the SUMMER BREEZE. Our apologies to all of you who were looking forward to the show. We shall try our best to book the band for SUMMER BREEZE in the coming years.

An official statement: “It is with great regret that we have to inform you Atheist has been forced to cancel its August European tour. Unfortunately, Atheist drummer, Steve Flynn, was forced to remain in the US for an unavoidable personal commitment. This happened at the very last minute and has been communicated to you all as quickly as possible. Several options were entertained – fill-in drummer, shifting dates and others. However, on such short notice, these proved to be impossible. The band wishes to express its most heart-felt apologies for this happening. Atheist will do whatever it can to make it up to the fans and promoters who have worked so hard to support the band for these 25 years.”

However, we are proud to announce that we've already found a substitute: VICIOUS RUMORS will now be the ones to make the Party Tent quake. Horns up!

The app also includes all info about the festival (ABC, site map, etc.) and the bands playing. A news feed will always keep you up-to-date in case there's announcements or changes at short notice. Impossible to be more connected. You won't get any closer to all the action happening at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011.

Water supply improved all over the festival site

In the last few years, the water supply on the festival site was one of the main points of criticism brought to us. Besides many other improvements, this year we are able to announce an important change in this field: The water supply at SUMMER BREEZE 2011 will be completely renewed and overhauled. Instead of the containers used in previous years, this year there will be several water stations. These are all marked on the site map. All these water stations will provide drinking water only. Furthermore and besides the portable toilets, there will also be flushable toilets in the concert area available for money, as well as a free water station to wash your hands.

NEW BLOOD AWARD: Finalists presented by metal.de

There are six bands in the finals of this year's NEW BLOOD AWARD who will compete against each other at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. 2,000 unsigned bands from all over the world applied, and it was ARCTURON, DAVIDIAN, FAREWELL TO ARMS, KILT, SHEAR and STEVE FROM ENGLAND who got the majority vote by the SUMMER BREEZE community members. On Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 from 15:00 these bands will kick off the metal proceedings for SUMMER BREEZE 2011 in the Party Tent in front of you as well as a specialist jury, seeking to take the NEW BLOOD AWARD trophy home. The winning band will also open the festival on one of the main stages the following day.

Still water for half the price

Due to a great demand among our festival clientelle for a low-priced, thirst-quenching beverage, for the first time at SUMMER BREEZE this year there will be still water in our range of beverages. All bubble haters can pick up their water for half price (€1.50 for 0.4l) at a stand left of the Main Stage, next to the entrance to the VIP area. Cheers!

Unfortunately we have to let you know that US horror punks BLITZKID have cancelled their whole summer 2011 tour. Sadly this includes their planned appearance at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. Apologies to all those who were looking forward to seeing them. We will not rest until we can book the band again for SUMMER BREEZE in the years to come.

However, we are happy to be able to announce their replacement. German industrial gothic metallers STAHLMANN will now be in charge of your entertainment with their steel hard sound. Horns up!

Unfortunately we are forced to announce that REVAMP, the gothic metal band fronted by the Netherlands' mega-voice Floor Jansen, have had to cancel their appearance at the Nuclear Blast Label Night at SUMMER BREEZE scheduled for Wednesday, August 17. Our apologies to all of you who were looking forward to the show. We shall try our best to book the band for SUMMER BREEZE in the coming years.

However, we are proud to announce that we've already found a substitute: English NWOBHM legend HELL will now be the ones to make the Party Tent quake. Horns up!

As a consequence, the running order of the Nuclear Blast Label Night had to be revised. The new version can be found HERE.

ATM / cash machine service improved

For the second time this year there will be a cash machine on the festival site. Once again it will be located next to the entrance to the VIP area, close to the Nuclear Blast stand. This year's cash machine provider works with a different technology, so there should be no malfunctions. And, since the cash machine will be located inside a container, you will be able to keep your feet dry while withdrawing cash. Those of you who hold an account with one of the Genossenschaftsbanken (Volksbanken, Raiffeisenbanken, etc.) will even be able to withdraw cash free of charge. For everyone else the charges will be displayed at the machine.

Direct bus service from Stuttgart to SUMMER BREEZE

For the first time this year all those going to SUMMER BREEZE can take a direct bus shuttle from Stuttgart airport or its main train station (Hauptbahnhof) directly to the gates of SUMMER BREEZE in Dinkelsbühl. You will receive a confirmation and travel documents per email upon successfully completing your booking.

This year we are especially happy to announce our collaboration with the Aalen-based NGO Govinda Entwicklungshilfe e.V. Since 1998 this organization has been supporting the population of Nepal, one of the world's poorest regions. The organization, whose members work on a honorary basis, provides a home to 51 orphan children near the capital Kathmandu. In 2002, a school for 500 students was built, not only intended for orphan children, but also for children from underprivileged backgrounds and children from better-off families who can afford to pay a tuition and therewith help to make this project possible.
