Gäbe es einen Black Metal-internen Wettberwerb um die hasserfüllteste Band, 1349 würden zu den heißesten Anwärtern auf diesen Thron gehören. Zumindest, wenn man die ersten drei Platten ihrer Karriere berücksichtigt. Auf dem aktuellen Werk ‚Revelations Of The Black Flame‘ schlägt das norwegische All-Star-Ensemble (u.a. sind hier Mitglieder von Satyricon, Pantheon I, Koldbrann, Keep Of Kalessin und Gorgoroth mit an Bord) langsamere, aber keineswegs hellere oder liebenswertere Töne an. Zum zweiten Mal nach 2006 fallen sie wie die Pest – 1349 war übrigens das Jahr, in dem jene Krankheit 2/3 der norwegischen Bevölkerung dahin raffte – in Dinkelsbühl ein, um den Beweis anzutreten, dass es nicht immer blanke Raserei sein muss, mit der man die Essenz des Black Metal an dem Mann (oder die Frau) bringen kann. Pflicht für alle Schwarzheimer unter euch!

 If there was a competition in black metal for the most hate-filled band, 1349 would be one of the hottest candidates for the title, at least considering the first three albums in their career. On their new album, 'Revelations Of The Black Flame', the all-star ensemble (feat. members of Satyricon, Pantheon I, Koldbrann, Keep Of Kalessin and Gorgoroth) may have got slower, but in no way lighter or nicer. After 2006, this is the second time the black pest – 1349 was the year when that epidemic killed 2/3 of the Norwegian population – will fall on Dinkelsbühl, proving that black metal doesn't always need to be played at lightning speed in order to capture its essence. Mandatory for all black metallers out there!


 Si il y avait une compétition dans le black métal pour le groupe le plus rempli de haine, 1349 aurait l’une des candidatures les plus chaudes pour le titre en question, du moins en prenant en considération les trois premiers albums de leur carrière. Sur leur nouvel album, ‚Revelations Of The Black Flame’, l’ensemble all star (comprenant des membres de Satyricon, Pantheon I, Koldbrann, Keep Of Kalessin et Gorgoroth)  y ont été plus lentement, mais en aucun cas légèrement ou gentiment. Après 2006, c’est la seconde fois que la peste noire – 1349 est l’année ou l’épidémie a tué le 2/3 de la population norvégienne – va s’abattre sur Dinkelsbühl, prouvant que le black métal n’a pas toujours besoin d’être joué à la vitesse maximale afin de capturer son essence. Obligatoire pour tous les black métalleux qui seront présents!

Sul loro nuovo album, ‘Revelations Of The Black Flame’, questo gruppo di all-star (con membri di Satyricon, Pantheon I, Koldbrann, Keep Of Kalessin e Gorgoroth) può aver rallentato, ma sicuramente non è diventato più leggero o più gentile. Dopo il 2006, questa è la seconda volta che la peste nera – il 1349 fu l’anno in cui l’epidemia uccise 2/3 della popolazione norvegese – cadrà su Dinkelsbuehl, dimostrando che il black metal non ha sempre bisogno di essere suonato alla velocità della luce per catturare la sua essenza. Obbligatorio per tutti i black metaller lì fuori!
