Collaboration with Govinda renewed

This year we are especially happy to continue our collaboration with the Aalen-based NGO Govinda Entwicklungshilfe e.V. Since 1998 this organization has been supporting the population of Nepal, one of the world’s poorest regions.
After the terrible earthquake that hit this year, the organization, whose members work on a honorary basis, is raising money to reconstruct the houses in the villages where it has their projects, after having distributed tents, canvas covers, blankets and food for the last few weeks. Govinda provides a home to 51 orphan children near the capital Kathmandu. In 2002, a school for 500 students was built, not only intended for orphan children, but also for children from underprivileged backgrounds and children from better-off families who can afford to pay a tuition and therewith help to make this project possible.
Thanks to your donations to the village projects in West Nepal, various schools were built during the last few years.
You see, there’s a lot that can be achieved with your returnable bottles and cans. We and the Govinda team are looking forward to an equally great cooperation from you as in previous years. Thanks!
Govinda volunteers will also be out collecting empty returnables. They will be wearing coloured Govinda shirts and an identification. Should anyone identify themselves as returnables collector or collect returnables unasked, please inform the staff at the Govinda info stand near the entrance to the festival site or at the sorting station close to the security camp. There you can also donate your returnables or just stop by for a chat.
Those not familiar with Govinda yet can look for more information on their website and also visit their stand near the festival entrance. They’ll be happy to see you!
