Cinema evening: ‘Imaginaerum by Nightwish’ comes to Dinkelsbühl!10.07.2017
Once more we have joined forces with the makers of the Fantasy Filmfest to bring the cinema fans among you a film to enjoy on Tuesday evening in a relaxed atmosphere. And the FFF team’s choice is the Finish-Canadian fantasy film ‘Imaginaerum by Nightwish’, which obviously fits like a glove.
The film has been kindly made available to the FFF people and ourselves by Capelight Pictures. As is known, ‘Imaginaerum by Nightwish’ was developed in collaboration with the symphonic metal band Nightwish, based on their album of the same title. The 85-minute manages to convince not only due to its musical score, but also thanks to some breathtaking pictures.
Since the film has been rated for viewers over 12, even our teenage patrons will be able to enjoy the cinema evening.
Accompanied by the music of Nightwish, in ‘Imaginaerum’ an ageing musician fights against oblivion: Once a successful musician, Tom Whitman (played by Francis X. McCarthy) is struggling with dementia. Tom suffers a stroke, which moves his once neglected daughter Gem (Mariane Farley) to move back into her parents’ home. In a come, Tom’s consciousness sinks into childhood memories. In the body of his 6-year-old self he travels through his memories alongside the eldritch snowman Mr. White (Ilkka Villi), reliving his life in horrible visions. Confronted with these terrible events, Tom seeks to save the fading picture of his daughter before it is too late…
