After 2016 and 2024, the well-known cover artists Thomas Ewerhard and Björn Gooßes will once again be guests at SUMMER BREEZE 2025 with their exhibition.
Throughout the festival, all SUMMER BREEZE visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the cover artists and view their work in the pagodas on the Campsite Circus area. The artists presenting their partly direct, partly abstract visions were or are active musicians themselves and have all started their careers as graphic artists for their own bands. Thomas Ewerhard and Björn Gooßes have known each other for a long time – from the days when covers were still designed as an incentive to buy and the selection in the record store was often based on particularly bloodthirsty artwork. Many of their customers are also top-class bands that have their roots in the last millennium and have been able to hold their own against fast-moving trends: Doro, Kreator, Sodom and many more…
About the artists:
Thomas Ewerhard
Thomas Ewerhard began his activities in the mid 90s and was one of the first artists in the German and international heavy metal scene to offer a new style based on digital composing and collage, which soon established him as a designer. His work includes covers and shirt designs for Avantasia, Volbeat, Amon Amarth, Doro, Edguy, Spock’s Beard, Threshold and many more, some of which will be part of the exhibition.

Björn Gooßes
Born in ’77, Björn Gooßes is the youngest of them. In his early days he would ask his colleague Ewerhard for advice surrounding paintbrush and pixel many times. Born in Wesel, Gooßes has worked with many different bands, festivals and authors from over 25 different countries. In the exhibition he is presenting a small selection of his works, which are somewhere between image processing, mixed media and compositing.
