GENERAL

What is Cashless Payment?
Cashless payment means that you pay with your festival wristband – more precisely with the RFID-chip inside. You can load the chip with money before or during the festival and use it to pay anywhere on the site: at food and drink stands, at merchandise, on the non-food mile or at the Shit’n’Shower Stations. You will no longer need cash or a card.

Why is the SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2025 cashless?
Cashless payment makes paying on the festival site safer, faster and less complicated for everyone involved. Instead of using cash or card, you simply use your festival wristband to pay.

Your advantages at a glance:
More security: No cash and no cards that you could lose in the mosh pit.
Less waiting: Faster payment processes = shorter queues at food and beverage stands.
Everything at a glance: You can view your current balance and all transactions online.
Always ready to go: The chip is permanently attached to your wristband – you always have your money on your wrist.
Offline payment possible: No WiFi required – a clear advantage over cards or cell phones.
Chip can be blocked: If you lose your wristband, you can simply have the chip blocked.

In recent years, we have already had good experiences with cashless payment in some areas of SUMMER BREEZE. In 2025, we are now using the system festival-wide – so you can concentrate on what matters: Music, mosh pits and cold drinks.

What are the fees and deadlines?
There are no additional fees for cashless payment. You can simply top up your chip online via the event portal from now until the last day of the festival. From Sunday, 17.08.2025, at 14:00, you can have your remaining credit paid out – also online.

Where can I get my festival wristband with the chip?
You can get your festival wristband with integrated chip on presentation of your valid festival ticket at the entrance gates:
By car: at the vehicle gate on Black Earth
By public transport: at the pedestrian entrance or at the box office

Are there areas where payment can also be made using other payment methods and not exclusively with the RFID-chip?
The only booths within the festival grounds where you can also pay by EC/credit card are the Official SUMMER BREEZE Merchandise booths.

Cash payment is not possible there – as everywhere on the festival site.

PAYMENT

How does payment with the chip work?
The staff at the stands will take your order and show you the amount to be deducted from your credit. You then hold your festival wristband to the device to confirm the purchase and initiate the payment. Your current balance will then be shown on the display and you will receive the goods you ordered.

Where can I pay with the chip?
You can use the credit on your RFID-chip to pay conveniently and contactlessly throughout the festival site – whether at merchandise, in the supermarket, in the non-food area or at the food and beverage stands. The Shit’n’Shower stations are also paid for using the chip.

Can I also pay with cash or card?
Cash: No (There is one exception. You will need a €2 coin for the lockers at the entrance to the infield).
Card: Yes. On the entire festival site you can pay with the chip on your festival wristband. The only exceptions are the Official SUMMER BREEZE Merchandise-stands, where you can also pay by debit or credit card.

How does cashless payment work at the Shit’n’Shower Stations?
Using the Shit’n’Shower Stations will be more flexible! Instead of a flat rate, you pay per use of the flush toilet (€1) or shower (€4). The total amount is limited to a maximum of €15 for the entire festival. Once you have reached this amount, you pay nothing for all further shower and toilet visits. There are turnstiles at the entrances. You hold your chip up to the turnstile and the corresponding amount is automatically deducted.

Are additional offers such as canned beer, power stations or cool boxes deducted via the RFID-chip?
No. Please have your e-ticket from our online store ready for pre-ordered canned beer, power banks, power stations and cool boxes. This allows you more flexibility as a group and you don’t always have to send the same person to collect the respective items.

Is access to the Comfort- or Caravan Camping regulated by the festival wristband?
Yes. The access authorization for the Comfort and Caravan Camping areas will be transferred to your festival wristband as soon as you enter the area you have booked for the first time. Please have your e-ticket ready for this.

Is there still a cup deposit?
Yes! the cup deposit will be deducted from your credit when you purchase a drink. When you return it, hold your chip up to the reader again and the deposit will be credited back to you. 3

Can I give a tip?
Yes! Tipping is voluntary, of course. With every purchase, you have the option of having an additional tip deducted from your chip. On the payment device, you can choose between different percentages or a free amount or leave it out completely.

REGISTRATION AND TOP-UP

Do I have to register for cashless payment?
We recommend that you register your ticket in advance via the Eventportal and top it up online . This way, your credit will be available to you as soon as you receive your festival wristband and you can avoid possible waiting times at the TopUp stations (machines where you can top up your chip with cash or debit/credit card).

You do not need to be registered to load money onto your chip at the TopUp stations. However, you should register by the end of the festival at the latest in order to receive any remaining credit back.

How does registration in the Eventportal work?

1. Visit the website sboa25.eventportal.io

2. Create an account: Enter your e-mail address and assign a password.

    • Confirm your e-mail address.
    • Alternatively, you can also log in with an existing Facebook or Google account.

3. Link your ticket to your account – you will find your ticket number on the backside of your hard tickets next to the QR code (bottom right) or on e-tickets to the left of the QR code, under the order number (SBF-xxx). Only festival or day tickets can be linked. Parking tickets and other add-ons will be transferred to your chip on site. Format of the ticket number for e-tickets: 19 digits, numbers ONLY

    • Format of the ticket number for Hard-Tickets: 20 digits, combination of numbers and (lower case) letters.

4. Top up credit – use the available payment methods.

I have already created an account in the GET event portal for another event. Can I also use this for the SUMMER BREEZE?
Yes, you can log in with your existing login details and do not need to create a new account.

Can I also link my friends’ tickets to my account?
No, only one ticket number and one individual chip are matched per person. The ticket is personalized after registration. So if you have tickets as a group, you must distribute the tickets accordingly.

Can I link several day tickets to my account?
Link the day ticket that you will use first. When you enter, you will receive your wristband with chip, including the topped-up credit. For further day tickets, the new ticket will be transferred to your existing wristband at the entrance. Your credit will be retained. Alternatively , you can have all day tickets transferred directly to your wristband at the box office, so you don’t have to queue at the box office again on the following days.

How can I top up my credit before the festival?
After registering, you can top up your credit at any time free of charge via the Eventportal or the SUMMER BREEZE App. Your chip will already be topped up when you arrive and exchange your ticket.

Can I also top up credit on site?
Yes! You can use the TopUp stations on the site. You can top up with cash, EC card, credit card or debit card. The stations are designed for either cash or card. You will find them at the following locations:
Pedestrian entrance/box office
Check-In Area Sinbronn (VIP, Presse, Crew etc.)
Infield (admission, Battlefield, VIP-Area)
Shit’n’Shower Stations

You can also top up your chip online – either via the App or using the QR code on the back of the chip.
You can find the locations of the TopUp stations on our festival map as soon as it is online.

Which payment methods can I use for topping up?
Online:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express
Klarna
PayPal
GooglePay, ApplePay

On site at the TopUp stations:
Cash
Card (EC, Kredit, Debit)

What is the maximum or minimum amount I can top up?
Various predefined amounts can be selected via the Eventportal, starting from €10.
At the TopUp stations on the festival site, the minimum top-up amount with cash and EC/credit card is €5.
You can top up a maximum credit of €666. If this is not enough, you can top up your credit again at any time.

How can I view my current credit balance?
Via the Eventportal, the SUMMER BREEZE App, the TopUp stations or at any sales stands.
Note: There may be delays if there are network problems.
Mobile transmission masts of the largest German network providers are set up on the site, so there should be stable network coverage throughout.

What currency will I pay in and at what exchange rate will my money be exchanged?
Payment will only be made in Euros. Foreign visitors should check exchange rates and fees with their bank. The Cash TopUp stations only accept Euro bills.

I bought a ticket from a private individual and would like to link it to my account. How do I do this?
Only buy tickets via the official SUMMER BREEZE Shop or die Official SUMMER BREEZE Ticket Exchange. Tickets from third parties may be blocked or invalid. If you link such a ticket anyway, your credit may go to another person.

I have a VIP ticket and would like to link it to my account. How do I do this?

  • Free accreditation: When selecting tickets in the Eventportal, choose ‘CrewTool’. Your ‘Ticket number’ is located below the description of the assigned wristband (see screenshot).
  • Purchased VIP-Tickets: register like regular e-tickets.

As an accredited person, please note that you will be notified of the location and opening hours of your respective check-in by email shortly before the festival. Please also keep an eye on your spam folder.

When and how do I get my remaining credit back?

From Sunday, 17.08.2025, 14:00, you can request a refund in the Eventportal. The transfer can take up to 14 working days. Keep the RFID-chip until your refund is done.

Can I use the remaining credit in the following year?
No. Unfortunately, a transfer to subsequent years or other events is not possible due to technical issues.

DATA PROTECTION

What happens to my data?
For cashless payment at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air, we use the Cashless Payment service from the Austrian company Global Event Technologies GmbH & Co KG (https://www.get.systems/). GET requires certain personal data from you in order to provide and process this service – in particular the refund of unused credit. This data will only be processed with your express consent.

We have concluded an order processing contract with GET in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that GET may not use your data independently, but may only process it on our instructions. In addition, GET ensures that your data is secure through technical and organizational protective measures (TOM).

As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the use of the service or for refunds and there are no legal retention periods, it will be deleted. You can also request the deletion of your data directly from GET at any time.

Will movement profiles or similar be created and analyzed during the event?
No. No personal movement profiles will be created. Only the extent to which certain areas are used is recorded anonymously – e.g. to provide information on less frequented Shit’n’Shower stations via push notification on the SUMMER BREEZE App.

What personal data is stored on the chip?
An ID is stored on the chip, which is linked to your name and e-mail address in the Eventportal. Transactions and payments are stored – for billing, traceability and in accordance with statutory cash register requirements. You can view and download this data.

MISCELLANEOUS

I have already linked my ticket to my account, but would like to resell the ticket. How do I proceed?
Use the Official SUMMER BREEZE Ticket Exchange.
The buyer of your ticket will receive a new ticket from us, while your old ticket becomes invalid.
You can reclaim your topped up credit from 17.08.2025, 14:00.

If you have not yet topped up your credit, you can simply delete the link to your ticket within the Eventportal.

What happens if I lose my wristband or chip?
Go to the Cashless TroubleShooting at the infield access. If you are registered in the Eventportal, the chip can be blocked and the credit transferred. If you have not created an account within the event portal, please bring your festival ticket with you to the TroubleShooting container.

What happens if there are problems with my chip?
Go to the Cashless TroubleShooting. Your chip will be checked there and replaced if necessary – credits and accesses will be transferred.

What happens if the wrong amount has been debited?
Speak to the staff at the stand immediately. A later correction is not possible – therefore check the amounts directly when paying.

Can there be an interaction between RFID-chips and magnetic wristbands or smart watches?
There is no risk of the chip’s electronic memory (EEPROM) being damaged by magnetic fields from therapy wristbands or similar. The data is also encrypted on the chip and verified with checksums.

I need help or have a question that has not been dealt with here. Who can I contact before, during and after the event?
Look for the “Help” button in the Eventportal. This will give you direct help from GET Systems – or send an e-mail to cashless@summer-breeze.de.
On site, the Cashless TroubleShooting team will help you at the infield access.
